International scientific conference: Genetics to the rescue - Managing forests sustainably in a changing world

International Scientific Conference: Genetics to the rescue

Managing forests sustainably in a changing world

Registration to the Conference is mandatory for attending.

On-site registration and conference package pick-up, room 126, South Building: Monday morning Jan. 27, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM and afternoon 02:00 PM to 05:30 PM - Tuesday morning: 07:45 to 09:15 AM.

You can register for the Conference on this page. Please note that registration includes coffee-tea breaks, lunches and the social dinner. There is no discount for participating to only parts of the week's events.

Offsetting carbon emissions is included in the conference registration fee. We assumed that every participant would fly an average of 1,500 km to attend the conference. This produces approximately 200 kg of CO2 per person. 250 people attending the conference make up for 50 tons of carbon. The price of one ton of carbon on the European market is approx. 25 euros, which is rather low for having a real impact.

To significantly offset the carbon footprint of the conference, we set the price of a ton of Carbon at 40 euros. Thus, we will donate 2000 euros to a certified reforestation project dedicated to mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. We have chosen the following experimental project which will plant drought resistant tree species in the south of France. See:
